Kalkatunga -Biography

I am a keynote speaker, resilience mentor, and creator of Deadly Trainers, a culturally grounded fitness and wellbeing initiative designed to strengthen physical, mental, and cultural resilience within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.I bring over 35 years as a personal trainer, built on a lifelong commitment to transformation through discipline, movement, and mindset. My work sits at the intersection of lived experience and professional practice—working in prisons, youth detention, and mental health settings, where resilience is not optional, it is essential. My journey has been shaped by both achievement and service. I was nominated for High Achievement of Excellence in weight loss by the Global Weightloss Federation, and have been twice featured in Diabetes Australia Magazine for my contribution to health and transformation work. My story has also been featured on NITV television, highlighting community impact and lived experience. As a former CEO of a not-for-profit organisation, I led high-risk youth on transformative 3-day camps designed to build accountability, identity, and direction. I am also a Fox Sports TV Queensland Muay Thai Kickboxing Champion, and was nominated by the Courier-Mail as one of the Top 40 Most Inspirational Men in Brisbane.Through my upcoming book “Forged but Not Broken”, and my keynote speaking work with corporations and organisations, I focus on mental health resilience, leadership under pressure, and building stronger people and stronger workplaces. My message is simple but uncompromising:
Life doesn’t just happen for you. It responds to you.
